INTRODUCTION
Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital was set up in 1976 by the Sisters of Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood (FMDM) as a specialised cancer hospital. The not-for-profit hospital premise is set within a tranquil enclave in Tanjung Bungah surrounded by lush greenery and sunny skies, providing a serene environment for cancer treatment and recovery.
Equipped with 40 beds and the latest state-of-the-art cancer treatment facilities including three Linear Accelerators, PET-CT Scanner, and other diagnostic tools, Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital is regarded as one of the top single disciplined cancer hospital in the Northern Region of Malaysia. Our medical team consists of highly qualified Clinical Oncologists and Radiotherapists, Medical Physicists, Therapy and Diagnostic Radiographers as well as Oncology Nurses.

SPECIALTIES
Tomotherapy
- Tomotherapy is an advanced, image-guided, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) designed based on the technical principles of a CT scanner. The treatment allows for greater accuracy, customisation and minimises exposure to radiation.
3D Brachytherapy
- Brachytherapy treatment involves the placement of radioactive seeds or sources in or within close proximity to the tumour, allowing for a high radiation dose to the targeted tumour while reducing radiation exposure.

- The Radiation Oncology department houses a team of professional Therapy Radiographers who are experienced in delivering radiotherapy treatment using state-of-the-art Linear Accelerators and methods such as 3D-Conformal Radiotherapy (3D-CRT), Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SRT).
