Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy where a qualified hypnotherapist uses the technique of hypnosis to deliver therapy to clients. A Hypnotherapist uses this mind-based therapy to induce a trance state which helps clients to tune out unnecessary stimuli (both internal and external). This in turn, helps to create a state of altered but heightened awareness where clients experience complete relaxation allowing their focus of attention to be narrowed to the therapeutic suggestions delivered by the Hypnotherapist. The trance state induced by a Hypnotherapist simulates natural trance states like daydreaming or the feeling one experiences when engrossed while reading a book or watching a movie.

Hypnotherapy can be used as a stand alone therapy or as an adjunct to other therapies to help promote healing physically, mentally and emotionally. An ethical hypnotherapist will always ensure that the clients’ safety is looked into.
